Restless Leg Syndrome

Restless legs syndrome may affect up to 10% of the U.S. population.

“If you have to move your legs because they hurt that is not necessarily restless leg syndrome.”

People with restless legs syndrome have uncomfortable sensations in their legs and an irresistible urge to move their legs to relieve the sensations. The severity can vary. The sensations are usually worse at rest, especially when lying or sitting and worsen generally in the evening. For some people, symptoms may cause severe nightly disruption that can significantly impair their quality of life.
